My little son Justice is now 5 years old His beautiful smile lights up any room he goes into but mostly it is like a beacon over my own life. My world changed in December 2004 when I answered the call to adopt. As a single woman, the fear of the unknown almost kept me from a God call. I am so glad that I did not let fear keep me from that moment of life changing destiny.
Although Justice was born in the states, he was born to an African birthmother who was in the U.S. on a School Visa from Zimbabwe. A few months after Justice was born I felt the Lord calling me to another height. The deep insights and radical reality of adoption changed me and challenged me to reach for a greater balance of showing Gods love. My quest and hearts desire was to get others involved with the call to invest in the Kingdom by investing in what the King loves. The widow and orphan I answered the call to actual adoption but maybe God is asking you to ‘adopt’ by way of child sponsorship?
World Vision had asked me to help get children sponsored through my travels. In honor of my son Justice and the part of Africa his roots come from, World Vision gave me all children from Zimbabwe to have sponsored at my events. For 4 years now I have invited people like you to take part in the Kingdom by reaching out to the poorest of the poor. Justice is not my only child now. We sponsor 5 other children in different parts of Africa.
I realize that as the economy challenges our pocketbooks the plea to reach out financially and support these starving children (most in need of medication and education), is tough. But I want to put out a challenge to you to reach regardless. I did. I cut back on superficial things and made room to still bless the heart of God and believing for these children. For $35.00 a month you can click on this link and pick a child in need of your love and support. This is a commitment that is unselfish and direct. It is also an action that looks, and reacts like Christ. Join me in this effort to help World Vision continue reaching to feed a hungry child.
Thank You,
Rita
